Fruit ripening time: May - June
A distinctive flavour, which is sweet with some tartness. Given time in storage, the flavour will develop, and the sweetness will increase.
A sister apple to Cripps Pink, but without the pink blush. A yellow-green skin, with a red stripe and prominent lenticels. The flesh is ivory white, with a tinge of green, and is firm and crisp.
This apple has low chill requirements, so it can be grown in some areas where other varieties won’t thrive.
Uses: Fresh eating, good in baking and will keep its shape when cooked. Good keeping qualities.
Pollinators: Belle Cacheuse, Bulmer’s Norman, Cornish Aromatic, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith, Jonathan, Lady in the Snow, Sweetman, White Transparent, early white flowering Crabapples especially Manchurian Crabapple.
