Fruit ripening time: March - April

 

A vintage cider apple, suitable for single varietal hard cider with a bittersweet flavour and high tannin content. The flavours are complex, with aromas of cloves and nutmeg.

 

A small sized apple with a light yellow-green skin and a dark red striped blush. The flesh is white and dry.

 

A vigorous variety, tending towards a biannual cropping.

 

Uses: Excellent for single varietal cider production as well as in blended ciders.

The fruit store moderately well and should be used within approximately 2 weeks.

 

Pollinators: Braeburn, Browns Apple, Cleopatra, Cripps Pink, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Democrat, Esopus Spitzenburg, Five Crown Pippin, Fuji, Five Crown Pippin, Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Jonathan, Kingston Black, Northern Spy, Pine Gold Pippin, Red Delicious, Splendour, Tydeman's Early Worcester, Worcester Pearmain, Yarlington Mill and white flowering Crabapples.

 

Flowering Group 4 and a TRIPLOID variety, producing no viable pollen itself and requiring pollination from 2 different pollinators.
